Working with its partner, the Middle East Council of Churches, Middle East Fellowship is seeking to help provide assistance to internally and externally displaced Iraqi refugees within the Iraqi Christian community through local church partners. In addition to $30,000 in funds, we have received a $20,000 matching grant from a private donor. Because of this matching grant, every dollar you donate to this effort will be doubled in its value.

Middle East Fellowship has begun fundraising for a travel scholarship program, in order to defer the travel costs of individuals based on both need and merit. Applicants will have to demonstrate a worthy goal for their journey to the Middle East and demonstrate that they are unable to meet the financial burden required. A student might apply in order to create a "sister city" program between their hometown and a city in the Middle East, or in order to lend their special skills to a volunteer project. Southern Lebanon's population has been devastated by war. It is estimated that more than 1,000 civilians have been killed, much of the country's infrastructure was destroyed and cluster munitions left-over from the invasion continue to pose a threat to civilians. The damage done in just a month will take years to repair. We are asking all of our supporters to help bring emergency relief to the civilians who have been hardest hit by this conflict.
Middle East Fellowship is partnering with the Middle East Council of Churches, the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary in Beirut and Bridges of Love to help bring emergency relief to the people of Lebanon, delivering assistance wherever it most urgently needed. We have already raised over $20,000 for our "Assist Lebanon" fund! We still urgently need your support to help avert total humanitarian disaster in Southern Lebanon. We are working with our partners to bring food, clothing, medicine and bedding for those now being sheltered in this time of emergency.
The people of Lebanon urgently need your prayers and support.

Open Bethlehem, a Bethlehem-based organization, is an international campaign to save the city of Bethlehem. It’s message: that Bethlehem is a city of openness and diversity, with a centuries-old tradition of welcoming travelers, refugees and pilgrims from across the world.
Open Bethlehem gained international attention in 2005 when Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas presented Pope Benedict XVI with honorary citizenship of the city. In issuing a passport, Bethlehem is granting citizenship to those who “uphold the values of a just and open society (and) remain a true friend of Bethlehem, through its imprisonment”, according to the passport’s citation. President Jimmy Carter and Archbishop Desmond Tutu have also agreed to become citizens of Bethlehem.
Currently Middle East Fellowship is accepting online donations for Open Bethlehem. Since Middle East Fellowship is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the United States, all donations are tax-deductible.
